Sept 4-10, 2022
Last week while the U.S. celebrated Labor Day and a long weekend, veterinary practices still managed to claw out some year-over-year revenue growth. Much of this revenue growth came from services, while year-over-year growth in product revenue was nearly flat. Year-over-year growth was at 6.2% for revenue and -2.0% for visits. Revenue from professional services again accounted for much of that growth in revenue, at nearly 8% year-over-year. Months of heartworm and flea/tick protection dispensed were down again this past week. Product revenue was up slightly at 1.2% growth, the same as what we saw the week prior. You can see more details below and check out the Veterinary Industry Tracker for daily stats.

The rolling 14-day trendline for revenue and visits growth year-over-year was noticeably higher in 2021 before declining in January 2022. This spiked significantly in February and slightly in July but appears to be settling in overall at a lower rate than what we saw in 2021. We’re again starting to see it climb heading into September.
