Today is Election Day in America. Be sure to exercise your civic right and vote down the ballot if you haven’t already. For U.S. veterinary practices, Halloween week resulted in year-over-year revenue growth of 3.3% and -4.2% growth in visits last week. Revenue from professional services was up 4.9% year-over-year, while months of heartworm and flea/tick protection dispensed and revenue from products were down again this past week.

Revenue growth was up again this past week at 3.3% year-over-year, but down slightly compared to the week prior. Visits are still down but increased slightly since the week prior, at -4.2% year-over-year this past week.

Heartworm and flea/tick protection dispensed and product revenue were up slightly this past week compared to the week prior. Revenue from services was up nearly 5% year-over-year, but down slightly compared to the week prior.

The rolling 14-day trendline for revenue and visits growth year-over-year for the past 12 months has been consistently down in 2022 compared to 2021. This month we saw average revenue dip below 6% which is half of what we saw in April 2022 and closer to the 6.7% we saw in November 2020. Metrics are certainly not trending in the direction that one would hope.
