Veterinary industry revenue improved last week, jumping from 0.7% to 2.1% year over year. At -2.9%, visits remained in negative territory, but improved compared to the previous week’s -4.7%.

Year-over-year parasiticide purchases were negative again last week. Heartworm was -7.4%, and flea/tick was -4.0%, improvements from -9.5% and -7.8% respectively the week prior. Year-over-year service revenue jumped from 2.0% the previous week to 3.4% last week, while product revenue improved from -4.3% to -2.5%.

The rolling 14-day trendline showed slight declines in revenue and visits since early November.

Connecticut and Maine continued to experience the most year-over-year revenue growth last week at 6.4% each. Oregon was a distant third place in revenue at 4.5%, but was once again the only state to see positive year-over-year visit growth at 0.1%.
