Last week, Elanco announced updates regarding expected FDA approval timelines for two new products: Zenrelia and Credelio Quattro.
According to Elanco, the FDA confirmed that all three major technical sections — Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC), as well as Effectiveness and Safety — are complete for Zenrelia, a JAK inhibitor intended to control pruritus and atopic dermatitis in dogs. FDA approval of the product is expected late in the third quarter of this year, and Elanco foresees a fourth-quarter U.S. launch.
A Zenrelia trial on unvaccinated dogs dosed at three times the label dose led to Elanco’s expectation that a safety warning would be required for Zenrelia labels in the U.S.
Elanco’s Credelio Quattro, a broad-spectrum oral parasiticide protecting against fleas, ticks, and internal parasites, has passed the FDA’s Effectiveness and Safety sections. The company expects FDA approval during the fourth quarter of 2024, and a U.S. launch in early 2025.
