Veterinary industry revenue dipped into the negative last week, falling from 0.6% to -0.5% year over year. Meanwhile, year-over-year visits declined from the previous week’s -4.7% to -6.4%.

Parasiticide purchases continued to decline last week. Year-over-year heartworm was -11.8%, and flea/tick was -10.3%, drops from their respective -10.9% and -8.3% the week prior. Service revenue fell from 1.8% to 0.9%, and product revenue fell from -4.0% to -5.9% year over year.

The rolling 14-day trendline showed a gradual decline in revenue and visits since early November.

Last week, Maine and Connecticut again experienced the highest year-over-year revenue growth, with Maine at 6.7% and Connecticut at 6.4%. While no state saw growth in year-over-year visits, Oregon and Maine experienced the smallest declines at -0.1% and -0.6% respectively.
