Veterinary industry revenue and visits improved slightly last week compared to the week prior. Year-over-year revenue was 1.9%, while visits were -3.0%, up from 1.0% and -3.5% respectively.

Last week, year-over-year parasiticide purchases remained down, with heartworm at -8.4% and flea/tick at -7.5%. Service revenue jumped to 3.3% year over year from the previous week’s 2.3%, and product revenue climbed from -3.2% to -2.3%.

The rolling 14-day trendline showed revenue and visits declining slightly since mid-August.

Maine once again topped every other state in year-over-year revenue growth last week, coming in at 6.1%, while Connecticut trailed closely behind at 5.5%. Oregon saw the most growth in year-over-year visits at 0.2%, and Iowa and Washington tied for second place at -0.7% each.
