Veterinary Industry Summary: April 23–29, 2023

Stats from the Veterinary Industry Tracker powered by Vetsource and AVMA

April 23 – 29, 2023

This week, Boehringer Ingleheim announced [1] a new all-in-one product for cats, the broadest spectrum parasiticide available, covering tapeworms as well as flea, ticks, heartworm, and other parasites. Adoption and compliance with feline parasiticides has been a struggle and represents a much smaller portion of the total parasiticide market. It will be interesting to see how this new product impacts the market.

April 29 was World Veterinary Day. This year’s theme from the World Veterinary Association was “Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness (DEI) in the Veterinary Profession.” DEI efforts are crucial in the long-term success of the veterinary profession and Vetsource is similarly committed [2] to removing barriers to equitable access for all.
