U.S. veterinary practices closed out the month of August with a slight uptick in year-over-year revenue growth, specifically revenue from services, while year-over-year growth in visits and parasiticide protection dispensed remained down. Year-over-year growth was at 6.3% for revenue and -1.9% for visits. Revenue from professional services again accounted for much of that growth in revenue, at over 8% year-over-year. Months of heartworm and flea/tick protection dispensed were down again this past week. Product revenue was up slightly at 1.2% growth, slightly higher than what we saw the week prior. Revenue growth was over 6% this past week while visits continue to lag behind and were down nearly 2% year-over-year this past week. Both metrics up compared to what we saw the week prior.

Heartworm and flea/tick protection dispensed were down again this past week, while revenue from services was up over 8% and revenue from products was up 1.2%. Compared to the week prior, heartworm protection dispensed was down slightly while the remaining metrics were all up.

The rolling 14-day trendline for revenue and visits growth year-over-year was noticeably higher in 2021 before declining in January 2022. This spiked significantly in February and slightly in July but appears to be settling in overall at a lower rate than what we saw in 2021.
